Hawaii

The group of islands in the Pacific Ocean known as Hawaii became the 50th state in the United States in 1959. This tropical wonderland is a paradise visited by people from all over the world. There is historical information that makes us believe that Hawaii was inhabited a thousand years before America became a nation. At one time the islands were uninhibited. The first inhabitants to settle on these tropical islands were the Polynesian people. Because the Hawaiians were without a written history, their legends and chants have preserved their story. Their tales have been told in chants and songs.

When traveling to the paradise you won’t want to miss the Hawaiian dancers telling their stories in dance. The learned men of the island have passed away and with their passing the people have lost much of their history. Through their songs and chants they entertain tourist. They pass on knowledge to the succeeding generations sharing the little bit of history that is still known. For those that travel or playing online games to these islands, the people are one of their greatest assets. The first known European to visit the island was Captain Cook.

Each island is different with many unique attractions to see. On the island of Kauai you will want to do the Sea Tours. The National Tropical Botanical Gardens is a must see in Kalaheo. The famous Waikiki Beach is on the island of Oahu. Chinatown is in the historic district of Honolulu. Maui Myth & Magic Theatre in Maui is also a treat for those traveling to this tropical island. The East Hawaii Cultural Center is another site to experience. The Big Island Dance Council performs out of that Cultural Center.
